ABOUT KRUUNUN LOMAT
WHY CHOOSE KRUUNUN LOMAT FOR A COTTAGE HOLIDAY IN SOUTHERN FINLAND?
Kruunun Lomat offers peaceful lakeside cottages in Vihtijärvi, Länsi-Uusimaa — just 50 minutes from Helsinki and about 40 minutes from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. Our cottages combine traditional Finnish charm with modern comfort, ideal for families, couples, and nature lovers.
CAN I RENT A COTTAGE JUST FOR A WEEKEND?
Yes! We offer flexible booking options, including weekend stays. It’s a perfect short getaway surrounded by nature — close to Helsinki yet far from city noise, ideal for rest, sauna time, and outdoor activities.
BOOKING AND ARRIVAL
HOW DO I GET THE COTTAGE KEYS?
Keys are handed over personally or through a locked key box. You’ll receive clear instructions in your booking confirmation, so you can arrive flexibly — even late at night.
CAN WE ARRIVE LATE IN THE EVENING? WHAT ABOUT LATE CHECK-OUT?
Late arrival is possible if agreed in advance. Check-in time is 16:00, and check-out is 12:00. During high season we need time for cleaning, but you can always ask about a later departure — we’ll confirm based on availability.
ARE THE COTTAGES AVAILABLE YEAR-ROUND?
Yes, our cottages are available in every season. Prices vary depending on the season. In winter, the roads are ploughed and you can drive right to the door, making it easy to enjoy a cosy winter escape.
FACILITIES AND COMFORT
DO I NEED TO CLEAN THE COTTAGE MYSELF AT THE END OF THE STAY?
We believe that a premium vacation or a successful meeting includes complete relaxation. That’s why we’ve made our pricing as easy as possible: all our prices always include final cleaning, as well as hotel-quality linens and towels, with beds made for all guests.
ARE CLEANING TOOLS AND DETERGENTS PROVIDED?
Yes, each of our cottages has basic supplies to start your holiday; toilet/household paper, dishwashing liquid, garbage bags, cleaning supplies. Often, there are also some dry goods left behind by previous residents, such as basic spices, coffee, filter bags, tea, baking paper, foil. However, if there is something particularly important, we recommend that you book these with you. This way, your holiday will go smoothly and without any hassle.
DO THE COTTAGES HAVE A SAUNA?
Yes, all accommodations have a sauna – perfect for relaxing after a day in nature. Kruunun Helmi has a wood-fired beach sauna. Villa Metsänvartija has an indoor electric sauna all year round, and a traditional outdoor sauna is also available during the summer.
PETS
ARE YOUR COTTAGES PET-FRIENDLY? CAN I BRING MY PET?
Yes, pets are welcome in Kruunun Helmi for an additional fee of €25 per pet per stay. Owners are responsible for the pet’s behaviour and cleanliness. Surrounded by nature, Kruunun Helmi is ideal for a relaxing family getaway with your furry friend. Please note that Villa Metsänvartija does not allow pets.
ACTIVITIES AND NEARBY SERVICES
CAN I GO FISHING AT THE COTTAGE?
Kruunun Helmi is located by a lake, where guests can fish and use the available rowboat. Life jackets are provided. Please bring your own fishing equipment, as gear is not included. Villa Metsänvartija is on dry land without a lake.
CAN I BRING MY OWN HOT TUB?
Bringing your own hot tub is not allowed. However, Kruunun Lomat rents a hot tub trailer for Kruunun Helmi. Please ask about availability, and pricing when making your booking.
WHERE CAN I FIND INFORMATION ABOUT LOCAL ACTIVITIES?
We’re happy to provide tips about nearby nature trails, local services, and activity options. You’ll also find an information folder inside each cottage with maps and suggestions for things to do.
HOW FAR IS THE NEAREST GROCERY STORE?
The nearest grocery store is about 9 km away. You can also find some basic supplies at the nearby café, Syökerin Tupa, located just a short drive from the cottages.
CANCELLATION POLICY
WHAT ARE YOUR CANCELLATION POLICIES?
You can cancel your booking free of charge up to 14 days before arrival. The full payment is required in advance, but there are no additional booking fees. If your plans change, please contact us as soon as possible — we’re happy to assist with any modifications.
